Thursday of the 1st Week of Lent

Readings:

  • First Reading: Esther C:12, 14–16, 23–25

  • Psalm: 138:1–2ab, 2cde–3, 7c–8

  • Gospel: Matthew 7:7–12 (Ask, Seek, Knock)

Reflection
Queen Esther’s heartfelt plea to God in the first reading highlights the power of prayer and trust. Jesus likewise teaches us: “Ask and it will be given; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened.” Lent is a time to rediscover bold, persistent prayer. When you feel overwhelmed, remember Esther’s courage and pray with confidence that the Lord hears and responds in His perfect way.
