Friday of the Fifth Week of Lent

Readings:

  • First Reading: Jeremiah 20:10–13

  • Psalm: 18(17):2–3a, 3bc–4, 5–6, 7

  • Gospel: John 10:31–42

Reflection
Jeremiah is surrounded by threats but places his trust in the Lord, his defender. Jesus, accused of blasphemy, remains firm in His mission. At this point close to the Passion, we contemplate Christ’s determination in the face of opposition. When you feel rejected or misunderstood, remember that God is your rock and strength. Persevere in doing good, upheld by the faithfulness of His love.
